
Prezydent Interu Mediolan, Erick Thohir ogłosił dziś nazwisko nowego dyrektora finansowego. Został nim Michael Williamson, który będzie pracował w Mediolanie już od marca, jednocześnie zwalniając funkcję w D.C. United dla Toma Hunta.
- Bardzo się cieszę, że Michael dołącza do Interu. Ma on wielkie doświadczenie w finansach w sporcie. Jego etyka pracy i uczciwość nie mają sobie równych. On rozumie nasze cele i wie jak możemy je wspólnie osiągnąć - powiedział Erick Thohir.

Chcemy potwierdzić pozycję Interu jako jednego z dziesięciu najlepszych klubów na świecie - powiedział Michael Williamson. Przez ostatnie siedem lat pracował on w D.C. United. Najpierw jako dyrektor finansowy, później jako dyrektor ds. operacyjnych.

As the club’s COO, Michael is responsible for the club's business decisions. He guides the organization in development of strategies to implement ownership's vision for the club and is responsible for the financial health and success of the business operations of the team.
Prior to his time at D.C. United, Williamson worked at the U.S. Soccer Federation Foundation first as the Director of Finance and subsequently as their Chief Financial Officer. His responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of the financial management of the Foundation, reporting of the financial condition to the Foundation’s Board of Directors, and monitoring of the Foundation’s $75 million of investments.
He also gained extensive experience with Johnson Lambert & Co. in their Audit department. At the public accounting firm his clients represented a wide spectrum of society, including the Washington Tennis and Education Foundation, Friends of the National Zoo, National Association of Manufacturers, Frontier Insurance Company, and B’nai B’rith International. Williamson also worked at MBNA America for five years.
Williamson graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and received his CPA certification from the Virginia Board of Accountancy. He has served on various nonprofit Boards and currently is the Treasurer for United for DC. Williamson is also the financial expert on the American Association for Justice Audit Committee and is a faculty member of the Georgetown Sports Industry Management program.
